Police Officers Injured in Cypress Gardens Blvd. Crash

February 23, 2010.  At approximately 5:12 p.m., a red Mazda Miata driven by Bernice Nacrelli, 59, from Eagle Lake struck a Jeep carrying two police officers, Jacob Andrew Bratten, 35, and Lawrence Shnider, 41, as a passenger on their way to Avon Park.  Bratten was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC) and Shnider was taken by hospital to Winter Haven Hospital.  At the time of the accident, Nacrelli was attempting a southbound turn onto Lake Ruby Drive according to the Polk County Sheriff's Department.  Nacrelli only received minor injuries and was taken to Winter Haven Hospital in stable condition.
