Lakeland Teen Critically Injured in Crash

A teen in Lakeland suffered critical injuries in a car accident at approximately 11:30 a.m.  The accident occurred near the 1200 block of West Lake Parker Drive in Lakeland, Florida.  Christopher Estrada, 19, was a rear seat passenger in a 1999 Kia Sportage when it was involved in a one-car crash.  Estrada was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in critical condition.  Christopher Cruz, 20, was the driver.  Cruz came out of curve on the wet roads, crossed the opposite lane and jumped the curb before striking a palm tree.  Other passengers, Angel Ramos, 20, and Carl Crawford, 19, received non-life threatening injuries.  Initial reports are that Estrada was the only one not wearing a seatbelt.  The crash is still under investigation.
