Criminal charges were announced by Ft. Lauderale, Florida police involving a $120,000 Porsche 911 that struck two British men on February 13, 2009 on SR A1A.  The hit and run accident struck and killed Craig Elford, 39, and Kenneth Watkinson, 48.  Their bodies were found approximately 50 feet from the Courtyard Marriott where they were staying.  No one witnessed the crash but a valet driver heard the crash and discovered the bodies.  The Porsche was abandoned on the northbound ramp connection I-595 to I-95.  The owner of the Porsche, Ryan LeVin, 35, is the heir to a Chicago costume jewelry empire, and is charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.  LeVin's friend, Derrick W. Cook, was charged with accessory after the fact and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude.
