Infantino Baby Slings Recalled

More than 1 million baby slings made by Infantino LLC are being recalled after three infant deaths were reported by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.  The government says that consumers should immediately stop using the slings for children younger than four months of age due to suffocation risks.  Three deaths have been reported since 2009 involving infants aged 7 weeks, 6 days, and 3 months old.  Infantino sold these baby slings in the United States and Canada from January 2003 through March 2010 at stores including Walmart, Burlington Coat Factory, Target, Babies R Us and Amazon.com.  The baby slings sold for between $25 and $30.  Infantino is offering free replacements for the company's "SlingRider" and "Wendy Bellissimo" baby slings.  These baby slings are carried with padded shoulder straps for children up to 20 pounds.
