Driver in Fatal Crash Had High BAC

Brian Keith Ferry, Sr. is accused of killing a cabdriver as he fled from police.  Ferry had a BAC of 0.205, which is over twice the legal limit of 0.08 blood alcohol content (BAC).  Ferry was wanted on a warrant for driving on a suspended license at the time of the crash.  Ferry has not been permitted to drive in Florida for over 10 years.  His driving problems began in 1996 with a refusal to take a breathalyzer.  His license was permanently revoked in 2001.  Ferry was a at the Copper Mug Bar on Belcher Road around 1:45 a.m..  When Clearwater, Florida police attempted to pull over his 1998 Dodge Ram, he fled.  Ferry went through a red light and struck the Yellow Cab driven by Joshua James Donahue.  Donahue was 32 years old from New Port Richery, Florida and was a father of three children.  He was pronounced dead approximately an hour after the accident at Mease Countryside Hospital.  Ferry was arrested.
