Tampa, Florida.  A total of four children were injured in a car accident on Tampa Palms Boulevard near the Grand Reserve Apartments at Caitlin Drive in Tampa, Florida.  The accident happened as Hershel R. Patel was cited for making an improper left turn in front of the minivan as it tried to enter the apartments.  The accident occurred just after 1 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010.  The children were riding in a Chevrolet Venture minivan.  Patel was driving a 2006 Scion.  The minivan rolled over and skid approximately 85 feet on its roof.  The children with the driver of the minivan, Maysoun Cheko, were 6 year old Shaam, 5 year old Monaad, 3 year old Joud, and 2 month old Lujana Daaboul.  All four children were taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  One of the children was taken by a helicopter.  Police commented that the children's injuries would have been more severe if not properly restrained.
