Babson Park, Florida.  A teenager from Lake Wales was killed in a car accident.  18-year old Augustus C. Dawes, of Babson Park, was driving a pickup truck on Scenic Highway at Lake Moody Road when he lost control.  The accident happened at approximately 11:15p.m.  The deceased, 18-year old Daniel Hull, was a passenger in the 2002 Ford Ranger driven by Dawes.  The pickup truck rolled at least two times and Daniel Hull was ejected.  Hull was pinned under the truck and was dead upon arrival.  Daniel Hull's 17-year old brother, James A. Hull, was wearing his seatbelt and was in the back seat of the truck.  James Hull received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.  Dawes was taken to Lake Wales Medical Center and released.

This tragic accident involved the death of young Daniel Hull.  This accident was very likely caused by the negligence of the driver, Augustus Dawes.  In Florida, drivers are legally liable to their passengers for injuries that occur as a result of the driver's negligence.  Further, the owner of the vehicle is vicariously liable for any and all negligence committed by the driver within the course and scope of the permission to use the vehicle.  Under such circumstances, the death of Daniel Hull can be considered a wrongful death.  Wrongful death claims are subject to a two year statute of limitations in Florida.  If you or a loved one has suffered an injury in a car accident or if there has been a wrongful death in your family due to a car accident, please call the car accident and personal injury lawyers of Moody Law for a free consultation.  The facts and circumstances of every case are different.  Our car accident and personal injury lawyers serve Polk County, including Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Haines City, and Davenport.
