Seven Injured in Winter Haven Car Accident

A two-vehicle car accident in Winter Haven, Florida on Cypress Gardens Boulevard has resulted in seven people being injured.  The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:00 p.m. as Officer Eric Womack, 37, was driving a police cruiser and another vehicle turned left in front of the officer.  Shawana Jones, 20, of Auburndale, Florida was heading the opposite direction from Womack and turned her 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in fromt of the police cruiser.  Womack was sent to Winter Haven Hospital for a bruised knee, which his prisoner, J. Anthony Pineiro, 44, of Winter Haven, was treated for a broken collarbone.  Jones was carrying her two children in the car and passenger Shanise Jones, 13, of Winter Haven.  Jones had unknown injuries.  Jones' infant, Lavay, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with unknown injuries.  The accident is still under investigation.
