2007 PIP/No-Fault Auto Insurance Law Expired Temporarily By Moody Law | Personal Injury Attorneys on March 17, 2010

In 2007, PIP/no-fault auto insurance coverage was not required in the State of Florida for a period of time due to the expiration of a law that was not resurrected until January 1, 2008.  The lapsing of this law created a period of time where claims occurring within the lapse no longer had to prove a "permanent injury" before being entitled to noneconomic damages in an auto accident lawsuit.  During the time when there were debates in the Legislature about whether to let the law expire or to amend the law, Chris Russo from Moody Law wrote into the Lakeland Ledger with the above-linked comment.
