25-year old Julianne Inwood was riding as a passenger in the left rear seat of a 2000 Ford Mustang when the accident happened.  The accident happened at approximately 8:30 a.m. when the driver, Sonia Lugo-Haviland, lost control of the vehicle.  Inwood was ejected from the vehicle.  The car went into a mediaion and struck a guardrail.  Inwood, who lived in Inverness, was taken to Brooksville Regional Hospital and pronounced dead.  The driver was seriously injured.  A second passenger, 31-year old Allison Torres of Inverness, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of a motor vehicle (and also the owner) can be legally responsible to passengers for the negligence of the person behind the wheel.  Driving a motor vehicle is a serious responsibility and should not be taken lightly.  Even in a one car accident, the driver/owner may be responsible to the passengers for negligence.  If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident in the greater Central Florida area, including Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Haines City, Davenport, or Polk County, Florida, please contact a personal injury attorney from Moody Law.  We also handle a number of select cases on a statewide basis.  A consultation with one of our personal injury attorneys is free.  Please call today for your free consultation.
